  • Hosted at the dazzling Grand Sukhumvit Hotel, Suk, soi 6 (map here)
  • Free of charge, no need to register (come early to get a seat though)

About Ajahn Brahm

Ajahn Brahm should need no introduction for most people involved with meditation.

ab-sideHe came from England, and ordained in Bangkok in 1974, and soon after moved to stay with Ajahn Chah in the NE of Thailand. In 1983 he moved to Western Australia, and helped found Bodhinyana Monastery there. Full length bio is here.

Ajahn Brahm has a markedly different style to most Buddhist monks around the world – his effervescent speaking style brings joy to the otherwise rather plain subject of sitting quietly in meditation. Many of his talks are on the monastery’s YouTube Channel, which has over 80,000 subscribers.
Ajahn Brahm will share some of his experiences helping aspiring yogis in many countries and cultures.
About the Topic
Meditation should be the easiest thing in the world. Just sit and breathe! Babies can do it! Cats and dogs can do it! But your mind has other ideas. It won’t stop still. It is not content with anything simple. It likes to carry suffering around. Ajahn Brahm always brings happiness to the process of taming the mind.
This talk could go in different directions – you just have to be there!
We are kindly hosted at the Grand Sukhumvit Hotel – a really beautiful and well equipped venue. From NANA BTS take exit 2 or 4, and walk to Sukhumvit Soi 6. The Hotel is 200 meters (approx 3 mins) walk down the Soi.
