Early days of Littlebang

We were the first group to use Baan Aree meditation hall. I was sweeping up all the workmen’s mess and tools trying to get the room clean. This was 2007, and Dr Holly and Audwin had encouraged me to get out of the temple and bring people together in public. I had no idea what I was doing. Public speaking or performance is not easy, even after years of doing it. The day of the first talk I was shaking all morning. And all night afterwards, wondering why why why … But I already knew why. Since that day a lot of people have come together and become fast friends in dhamma.

In 2008 we switched to Wat Yannawa for a venue. Aside from the first night of terrible overcrowding, and the exploding amplifier, it went ok. Still, it took a lot of work doing PR, and then being the sole performer is a burden. All I have is a seat and my voice – not even any slides or props. But I fondly recall some of the people in the pictures.
