About the topic:

The Buddha famously said that if Enlightenment required 100 years in a terrible hell, it would be worth it. But, he said, it does not require 100 years in hell, for the dharma is beautiful int he beginning, beautiful in the middle, and beautiful in the end.

Grahame will be visiting us fresh from a group tour of the holy sites in India. They have been visiting these sites and hearing the actual teachings said to have been taught in each place.

Our little Bangkok group should know Grahame well – we have held several meditation retreats and a good number of talks with him before.

Grahame-small-graphicGrahame got involved in Dharma in the early 1970s, and got hooked. He was even a monk for a while in Bodh Gaya – the place of the Buddha’s own enlightenment. He’s been involved with dhamma ever since, especially in Burma in the rigorous Mahasi Sayadaw tradition.

He is one of the key teachers in Vipassana Hawaii together with Steven Smith and Michele McDonald (both of whom we have hosted in Bangkok) where he still goes several times a year. He has that down-to-earth Australian quality, and his meetings are always as fun as they are informative. Full bio and an interview with him can be found here on the websitefrom where he is running his current courses in Australia.

‘APARTMENTS’ Meditation Centre

The center is a 4 minute walk from Ekkamai BTS Station.

Walk along Ekkamai (Sukhumvit Soi 63) for about 3 minutes. Turn left into the second soi (lane). Bourbon street restaurant is on the corner. We’re the third building on the right, in the ‘APARTMENTS‘ building. Go up to the top floor. See the excellent map – it is very precise!little-bangkok-meditation-center-ekkamai
