Meditative Methods Exploring Compassion
The Little Bangkok Sangha is inviting you to a Zoom meeting on
Monday 9 January, 2023 from 6:30 – 08:00 PM Bangkok time.
There will be 3 American Mindfulness teachers: Bhikkhuni Dr. Lee, Stanley Lipkin and Renée Bochman
Bhikkhuni Dr. Lee is a fully-ordained Buddhist monastic in both Theravada and Mahayana lineages of three decades. She is a women and girls’ social activist with specialization in empowering Buddhist women worldwide. She established a Buddhist temple in Thailand, and initiated the full ordination of Thai and Burmese women in Southeast Asia. She engages in Compassionate Action through her “beingness.”
Stan Lipkin began his spiritual search almost 40 years ago, initially inspired by J. Krishnamurti and Osho. Meditating with S. N. Goenka, Joseph Goldstein and other Vipassana teachers led to the non-dual Indian Sages: Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, Ramana Maharshi, Ramesh Balsakar, Poonjaji/Papaji and his western disciple Gungaji. From the pointing by those clear beings to ‘Source’ contributed to the end of searching. That realization of what is eternally present is shared now with Mindfulness Meditation and Inquiries.
Renée Bochman teaches Cultivating Compassion Training (CCT) for free for anyone who is interested because the best thing she heard is from her students who believe learning about compassion has changed their lives as she knows it has hers. Her own journey and practice is what she considers a Western secular Buddhist practice with a multi-lineage training. She became very interested in the impact of compassion both for self and others and took Stanford University’s CCT course and then became a CCT Teacher. She studied under teachers such as Pema Chodron, Sharon Salzberg, Robina Courtin, Thich Nhat Hanh, Llama Tsultrim and Kristen Neff.
