An Evening with Ajahn Sukhito

You are cordially invited to join us on the first of July 2024, when Ajahn Sukhito will be leading the Monday night meditation at Baan Aree, the beautiful location so generously made available to us by the Baan Aree foundation.

The session will include meditation, a Dhamma talk, and Q&A.

Everyone is welcome, from beginners to experienced meditators. We meet to support and encourage each other in our practice.

Baan Aree is a Thai Buddhist Center, please wear something that is comfortable to sit in, and avoid tight-fitting clothes, shorts, sleeveless tops, and short skirts. There may not be sufficient drinking water on site, therefore you may bring your own water in a closed container. No other food/drinks are allowed in the main room.

As is usual with Buddhist teachings, there is no charge for this event. However, the Little Bangkok Sangha follows the Buddhist custom of Dana (generosity). The teachings and the venue are offered as an act of generosity, and those receiving them can, if they wish, reciprocate by making donations. These go towards the teacher’s and venue’s costs. Boxes for Dana will be provided.

Programme:
· 6:00 pm Baan Aree opens
· 6:30 pm Meditation
· 6:45 pm Dhamma talk
· 7:20 pm Q&A
· 7:45 pm Session ends
· 8:00 pm Baan Aree closes

Ajahn Sukhito was born in Israel in 1970. At the age of 22 he went on a long journey to the East, where he first encountered the teachings of the Buddha while traveling in North India. It was a defining moment in his life and following that, he continued learning and practicing in a variety of Buddhist traditions until he decided to join the Thai Forest tradition of Ajahn Chah. Since his bhikkhu ordination in 1996 he has primarily lived and practiced as a monk in Thailand.

From 2012 and until today, Ajahn Sukhito has been the head monk at Poo Jom Gom Forest Monastery in Ubon Ratchathani Province. Additionally, in recent years Ajahn has been engaged in a growing Dhamma group in his home country of Israel, and has been taking part in Ket Kamala, an education project in Ubon Ratchathani.
