Visit to Wat Pak Nam
Saturday 1st December 2018
at 10:00am-2:00pm
Ajahn Pandit will be giving us a guided tour of his home for the past 22 years. Wat Pak Nam is an extraordinary temple, featuring a museum and many beautiful decorations. It is home to the most senior monk in Thailand (aside perhaps, from the Supreme Patriarch).
There is no charge for this event.
We will meet at the BTS Talal Phlu station in Thonburi at 10 AM, and leave promptly at 10:15 AM, so please don’t be late.
Take exit 1, and we will meet at the bottom of the stairs.
We will be walking to the temple, stopping for lunch (cheap salad and ff) 10 mins along the way.
The walk through the neighborhood is part of the experience! After lunch it will take another 15 mins slow walk, with another temple along the route. Don’t forget your sun glasses and wear shoes you will be comfortable in. If you prefer you can carpool or share a taxi for part of the trip. If you get lost at the BTS, call Joe that morning at 064 648 0363.
Oh I so hope I can make it to this event. I have wanted to go in this temple for a long time after dropping of Ajahn Pandit a few times.. I teach Saturday morning, will see if I can cancel that class 🙂 I will go in my car if I do go and will probably go to the temple if that is ok ..
Really looking forward to this. Should bring Dana food offerings? Also, can anybody please tell me if the walk from the BTS station to the Wat is doable with a pram / baby pushchair? Much metta and thank you.
Walk should be ok with the push chair. It’s 10 mins to the restaurant, and another 10 to the Wat.
Good Morning. Looking forward to Saturday’s visit, which will be my first visit and first time with your group. However, can somebody please tell me what is the usual routine for offering Dana on such visits? Are people taking food Dana with them? There have been mentions of a restaurant – are people from the group eating there with Ajahn? Any advice in relation to this would be gratefully received. Thank you.
