The forthcoming Buddhist Forum held by The World Buddhist University on Sunday, June 6, 2010 features a talk on the topic “Buddhist Meditation Techniques Practiced in Thailand.” The guest speaker is Dr. Suthira Duangsamosorn, a long-time resident of Bangkok and independent scholar, who retired from Assumption University of Thailand as Assistant Professor of English and Comparative Literature. Her studies of Thai writers and Thai culture have given her a special vantage point of the topic meant to serve as an introduction to various meditation techniques and the five most famous meditation masters of Thailand.
Married to Dr. Somboon Duangsamosorn, Honorary Rector of International Buddhist College in Songkhla, who is a frequent guest speaker on the Buddhist Forum, Dr. Suthira now lives a quiet life writing a book set in the 40’s and 50’s of her native Berlin.

The WBU shares the same building with the WFB (World Fellowship of Buddhists), and can be found by our maps below. It is on the third floor. The WBU is open most office hours, and the building can be entered from the rear of the building from the Soi. The front gate that faces the park is generally locked, but there is access to walk through to the rear.

I would be very glad to have a Email-contact to Mrs.Suthira Duangsamosorn. I assume that I am a school-fellow of Mrs.Suthira Duangsamosorn. I think it is possible we visited in the years 1952-56 the same school. My name is Prof.Dr. Uwe Bahrs. I live in Berlin.
