‘Mindfulness and Yoga’
Dharma talk with Jeff Oliver
at Yoga Elements Studio
Chit Lom
Wednesday 21st August
Visiting meditation teacher Jeff Oliver will offer his reflections on the application of Mindfulness with yoga. The event is at Yoga Elements near Chit Lom BTS. 10am-Midday.
Topic
Vipassana mindfulness meditation starts with sitting and being aware of the body, usually through the breathing or body awareness. Walking meditation brings the same mindfulness to the walking posture. As one becomes accustomed to mindfulness it can be cultivated all the time, in all activity.
So can you bring the quality of mindfulness into your yoga practise? Once your yoga routine has become familiar, it might be of benefit to bring the mental quality of mindfulness into the asana, using it as ‘awareness based on the body’.
Schedule
The morning at Yoga Elements will include:
- dharma offering from the guest speaker on Body Based Mindfulness Practise.
- Some practical exercises
- time for Q&A and discussion
