One day Meditation workshop with Austrian meditation teacher
Mae Chee Brigitte
in English
At the fabulous Ariyasom Villa Boutique Hotel
Following our recent very nice workshops with the Wat Kow Tahm Assistant teachers Mike and Helge, we are glad to arrange a further one day meditation workshop with Austrian Mae Chee Brigitte. She has been a nun for 20+ years in Thailand and is fluent in English, German and Thai. Many regulars here will have met her before, but in case you have not she has a great reputation for teaching meditation. We are glad to have her here in Bangkok as generally she is busy with students from around the world in the temple where she lives, or else she is travelling abroad. In Dec ’09 she was particularly honoured to receive an award for contribution to Dhamma from HRH Princess of Thailand Prof. Dr. Chulabhorn Walailak.
The workshop is free of charge, so we won’t be collecting deposits. But there is only room for 25-30 participants, so please be VERY sure you will be attending. It is open only to those who book in advance and who will participate in the whole day, due to shortage of space.
8:30 Arrive/coffee
9.00 am -9.55 am: Introduction talk (ca.20 min), meditation instructions and sitting meditation
10.00 am – 11:30 Sitting and Walking meditation alternated, plus extra instructions or pressing questions
——— 11:30 am – 1.00 pm lunch break (talking) ——-
1.00 pm – 5:00 pm Walking and Sitting meditation, and a Q&A/Dhamma talk session as appropriate.
5 pm Official finish – Go home and get ready for your Saturday night out, or else stay, caffeinate and chat a while with other regulars for a while.
Many people have commented we have had a lot of Dhamma Talks, but no so much in the way of actual ‘nitty gritty’ meditation instruction. So this workshop will focus directly on the ‘How-To’ of insight meditation based on the Foundations of Mindfulness.
Update: There’s a swimming pool at the hotel too, in case you fancy a swim before/after lunch or after the workshop.
